DEGREE PROGRAMS

Guidance College offers various types of programs to meet the needs of the community at large.

Our programs are divided into 6 main categories:

Associate’s Degree in Islamic Studies

An associate degree is typically a two-year degree awarded by Guidance College. The Associate Degree is a total of 66 credit hours. It covers the major areas in Islamic religion, including Quran and its Sciences, Prophetic Sayings and Practice, Islamic Creed, Islamic Jurisprudence, Islamic Ethics, Rules of Transactions, Arabic Language, and Comparative Religion. The graduate has the option of continuing his career with Guidance College to earn a bachelor’s degree.

Bachelor’s Degree in Islamic Studies

This degree is a total of 130 credit hours. It covers the major areas in Islamic religion including Quran and its Sciences, Prophetic Sayings and Practice, Islamic Creed, Islamic Ethics, Rules of Transactions, Arabic Language, and Comparative Religion.

Post Baccalaureate Certificate in Islamic Studies

The Post Baccalaureate Certificate in Islamic Studies consists of a total of (19) credit hours in classical Islamic disciplines: Quran recitation, memorization, and Tajweed. Islamic doctrine, Islamic law (in brief), Arabic grammar and methods of teaching Arabic are also covered. The latter is designed especially for non-Arabic speakers. The student will also take a research methodology class in education.

Post Baccalaureate Certificate of Islamic Finance Professional

Guidance College’s CIFP (Post Baccalaureate Certificate of Islamic Finance Professional) is the first year of the Executive Master’s Islamic Finance EMIF Program. It is designed to fulfill the need of those who want to be certified in Islamic finance profession. It provides the principles and foundations of Islamic economics and finance, accounting in Islamic institutes, capital market, and Fiqh of transactions. 

Master’s Degree in Islamic Education

Our Master’s in Islamic Education program encompasses two different tracks.  Completing the two tracks successfully (40 credit hours) would entitle the candidate to earn a Master’s Degree in Islamic Education.  Completing the Islamic Studies and Their Teaching Methodology track only (total of 19 credit hours) would result in getting a Post Baccalaureate Certificate in Islamic Studies.  While completing the Teacher Certification track (21 credit hours) would make the student a Certified Teacher.

Additionally, certified teachers, who already have their teacher certificate from a different university, can still take the Islamic Studies track, in which Guidance College will accept their teacher certificate as dual credit and grant them a Master’s Degree in Islamic Education.

Executive Master in Islamic Finance

Our EMIF Executive Master’s in Islamic Finance program encompasses two different components.  Completing the two components successfully (total of 38 credit hours Courses) would entitle the candidate to earn an Executive Master’s Degree in Islamic Finance. While completing the first year courses only will result in an industrial qualification called Guidance College CIFP (Post Baccalaureate Certificate of Islamic Finance Professional).
