Dr Louay Abdulbaki

Dr Louay Abdulbaki holds a PhD in Islamic Studies and has written and published more than 40 books, book-chapters and scholarly articles on Islamic education, Arabic studies, Islamic political thought, parenting, and other contemporary issues.

Dr. Abu Umar Faruq Ahmad

An alum of Western Sydney University, Dr. Abu Umar Faruq Ahmad is an international figure renowned within the world of Islamic Economics and Finance. Featured in the 2018 and 2019 ISLAMICA500 Global Leaders of the Islamic Economy, Dr. Ahmad’s additional accomplishments include Associate Professorships at universities in Saudi Arabia, Brunei, Malaysia and the United Arab Emirates.

Dr. Muthanna Alkhaldi

Dr. Muthanna has more than twenty years of experience in teaching the Arabic language where he developed his own curriculum.  He developed a classical Arabic language curriculum for native speakers and instructed students in advanced syntax and morphology.  Dr. Muthanna instructed classical Arabic courses ranging from beginner to advanced levels.

Dr. Bachir Djehiche

Dr. Bachir Djehiche is a well-known Islamic scholar. He has around fifteen years of experience in teaching Islamic Jurisprudence and Islamic Law. His area of interest is Fiqh & Usul al-fiqh. He has been lecturing National and International seminars on Islamic themes and topics. He is an author of a book “Fee al-Ijtihad attanzeeli (In applied Ijtihad)”.

Dr. Noha Elarief

Dr. Noha Elarief brings a mix of academic and industry experience in Computer Science to Guidance College. An alum of Oregon State University, Dr. Elarief, continued her doctoral work in a post-doctoral study developing a series of error detecting and error correcting codes including a patented error correcting code for Flash Memories achieving the channel capacity. In the private sector, Dr. Elarief has held multiple senior to technical lead Software Engineering positions at  both HP and Invitae.  In addition to her technical studies, Dr. Noha completed memorization of the Qur’an obtaining her Ijazah in Qirat Hafs.

Dr. Hamed Ghazali

Dr. Hamed Ghazali is the Director of the Houston Quran Academy. He has a Ph.D. in Education from Kansas State University and has completed the memorization and interpretation of the entire Holy Quran. This included a careful study of the Ibn Katheer, In the Shades of the Quran, all volumes of Tafseer by Ibn Taymiah, and the major writings of Tafseer by Ibn Qayyim Aljawzia. In addition, Dr. Hamed has written numerous publications and papers regarding Islam and teaching methods.

Dr. Muhammad N. Haq

Dr. Haq received his doctoral degree in Comparative Religion from the University of Punjab, in Pakistan. Prior to teaching at the high school to graduate level in the United States, Dr. Haq was a faculty lecturer at his alma mater, the International Islamic University in Islamabad, Pakistan where he earned his Master’s degree in Islamic Theology and World Religions.

Dr. Khalid Kebbati

Dr. Khalid Kebbati is originally from Algeria.  He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Chemistry from the Algerian Institute of Petroleum; a Master’s Degree in Agricultural Economics and a Ph.D. in Educational  Technology from Kansas State University, Manhattan, Kansas.  He has several years of university teaching experience at the undergraduate level and across a variety of subjects including French, Educational Technology, Foundation of Education, Integration of Technology in the Curriculum, Computer Technology in Education, Instructional Media and Technology, and Microcomputers in Instruction.

Dr. Noor Mobeen

Dr. Noor Mobeen holds a Ph.D and a M.Ed.L in Leadership, Education and Education from Texas A&M.  He also holds a B.S in Leadership Development Construction Science from Texas A&M.  He also holds a M.Ed.L in Leadership, Education and Communication from Texas A&M.  Dr. Noor received a Certificate of Excellence “International Leadership Development & Management” from the Norman Borlaug Institute of International Development, Texas A&M.

Dr. Qasim Siddiqui Mohammed

Dr. Mohammed is a multi-faceted, professor, imam and mufti. Originally from India, Dr. Mohammed brings to Guidance College a vast array of knowledge and expertise in both the science of the Hadith and languages. Fluent in Arabic, Urdu and English, Dr. Mohamed has developed a unique method for teaching student teachers the art of teaching Arabic. Renowned for his intellect and knowledge on the rule for clarifying misunderstanding narrations of the Holy Prophet Mohammed (Peace be upon him) on Dr. Mohammed is a featured columnist and regularly invited to be a guest speaker at conferences and during Juma.

Dr. Farrukh Shahzad

Dr. Farrukh Shahzad received the BE (Electrical Eng.) from the NED University of Engineering & Technology, Karachi, Pakistan in 1992 and the MSEE from King Fahd University of Petroleum &Minerals (KFUPM), Dhahran, Saudi Arabia in 1996. He recently completed his Ph.D. from KFUPM in 2016.

Dr. Shakir Ullah

A professor in the Master’s in Islamic Economic and Finance Program (MAEF), Dr. Shakir Ullah exemplifies the global experience that Guidance College professors provide to its students. Dr. Ullah has taught at the University of Southampton, United Kingdom, the Institute of Management Sciences, in Pakistan, been PhD Advisor at Georgetown University, Washington D.C, and a Dissertation Chair at the California Intercontinental University—just to name a few. In addition, Dr. Shakir has also worked as Global Business and Financial Analyst with Fortune 500 companies including Microsoft, Honda, MasterCard, Walt Disney and Jaguar.

Naeem Dhiraj, M.S.

Naeem holds a Master of Science in Islamic Banking and Finance (Honors) from the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM). He completed his Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from Northeastern Illinois University in Chicago. Additionally, Naeem also earned a Certified Zakat Professional (CeZP) certification from the International Institute of Islamic Business and Finance (IIIBF) from Malaysia, a research institute under Bank Negara Malaysia (the Central Bank of Malaysia). Naeem has over 10 years of work experience in banking and finance. He is passionate about disseminating the knowledge of Islamic finance, which is proven by the fact that he traveled from the US to Malaysia for two years with his family to earn the Master’s degree. 

Dalia El Metwally, M.A.

Teaching and students are Sr Dalia’s passion. As Principal of Maryam Islamic Center School, she passes on her knowledge of Quran and Islam to teachers and students. When not working with primary school students, Sr. Dalia teaches a combined Research Methodology and English 101 class at Guidance College as well as English at the Wharton County Junior College, in Wharton Texas. In addition to her to instruction Sr Dalia is busy completing her PhD candidacy at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette in English with a concentration on Linguistics. With Allah’s grace, she has three Master’s Degrees. Sr Dalia is fluent in English and Arabic and speaks conversational French.

Reem Shaikh, MTS

Reem recently graduated from Harvard Divinity School, where she completed the Master of Theological Studies with a concentration in Islamic Studies. Reem has earned her ijazah in the Hafs and Warsh Quranic recitations, and is continuing to work other recitations. Additionally, Reem is fluent in English, Arabic, and Urdu.

Ashley Williams-Gilbert, M.S.
Ashley Williams-Gilbert holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Geology from the Western Kentucky University Geology of the Jemez Mountains University of New Mexico/ Las Alamos National Lab; a Master’s Degree in Geology.

Sh. Moujahed Bakhach

Imam Moujahed Bakhach is currently the director of Mediation Institute of North Texas (MINT),  director of Family Counseling Dept. at MAS Dallas, religious advisor in many organizations.  He has received many recognitions and awards and has written many books, manuscript and workshops. Imam Mojahed Bakhach has over 20 years experience with lecturing people of all ages from high school students to seniors. He has also taken part in many institutions with different services.

Sh. Osamah Salhia

Sh. Osamah has a Bachelor Degree in Sharia’a from Al-Azhar University. He memorized the whole Quran at the age of 15.  He is certified in the Ten Canonical modes of recitation.  Sh. Osamah has experience in giving Friday Khutbas, leading Taraweeh and administering classes in Tajweed, Arabic language and Fiqh.
