Welcome to the American Journal of Humanities and Islamic Studies. The Journal is sponsored and founded by the Guidance College. The Journal was conceived with the idea of creating a leading, open source, academic, American Islamic periodical that will focus on Islamic concepts such as Law, Fiqh, Finance, Social change, History, Civilization, Doctrine, and humanitarian research.
Objectives
Scholars and academics from all backgrounds are invited to submit their research in Islamic ideology on topics that affect social sciences, education, behavioral sciences, emergent innovations and Islamic related topics in general.
Guidance College would like to thank the cohorts in the Executive Masters in Islamic Finance and in the Masters in Islamic Education Programs who generously contributed examples of their end of semester research papers for the inaugural issue, Volume I and Volume II.
A very special thank you to Dr. Basil AlQudwa Senior Economist and Director of Executive Masters in Islamic Finance at Guidance College for allowing the publication of his thought-provoking work, Sharia Supervisory Boards in the U.S. and Islamic Corporate Governance.
Publication Frequency
The volumes will be published biannually periodicity until at such time that periodicity demands growth.

Manuscript Format | Manuscripts/articles files should be provided in Microsoft Word format (doc. docx.). Latex file can be accepted if provided with additional PDF format.
Manuscript should be typed, double-spaced on standard-sized paper (8.5″ x 11″) with 1″ margins on all sides. You should use a clear font that is highly readable. APA recommends using 12 pt. Times New Roman font. |
Manuscript Length | Manuscript should be of 3000-9500 words in length inclusive of all references and annexures. |
Title | A title of not more than 12 words should be provided. |
Author Details | Each author should provide full name followed by institute affiliation, email address and mailing address. Corresponding author should be highlighted by an asterisk. |
Funding Details | Authors must declare all sources of research funding (if any) in their manuscript and also describe the role of financial sponsor in the entire research process. |
Abstract/Keywords | Title page must include brief of the manuscript not more than 250 words in total. A keywords of not more than six should follow by the abstract. |
Headings | Level 1- Centered, Boldface, Uppercase and Lowercase Headings |
Level 2- Left-aligned, Boldface, Uppercase and Lowercase Heading | |
Level-3- Indented, boldface, lowercase heading with a period. Begin body text after the period. | |
Level 4-Indented, boldface, italicized, lowercase heading with a period. Begin body text after the period. | |
Level 5-Indented, italicized, lowercase heading with a period. Begin body text after the period. | |
Tables | All the tables should be typed or of editable version and embedded in to the main body of the article following the APA style. The position of each table should be clearly labelled in the body text of article and numbered accordingly. |
Figures | Figures inclusive of charts, diagrams, pictures etc. should be properly numbered with Arabic numerals and must submitted in electronic form. |
References | References to other publications must be in APA style and carefully checked for completeness, accuracy and consistency. Both in-text and end references should be in consistent with formatting style (APA). |
Copyright Articles submitted to the journal should not have been published before in their current or substantially similar form, or be under consideration for publication with another journal. Authors submitting articles for publication warrant that the work is not an infringement of any existing copyright and will indemnify the publisher against any breach of such warranty. For ease of dissemination and to ensure proper policing of use, papers and contributions become the legal copyright of the publisher unless otherwise agreed. Review Process All the submission follows the double blind review process. Each paper is reviewed by the editor and, if it is judged suitable for this publication, it is then sent to at least two independent referees for double blind peer review.
