Learning Resources Manager

Position: Learning Resources Manager

Overview:

This is a three-month project. The purpose of which is to Identify resources to build the College’s collection of Islamic Studies. The LRS is responsible to the Chief Academic Administrator (CAA) for managing, developing, and promoting the delivery of learning resources and library services within Guidance College in a manner that will enable the achievement of the educational aims and objectives associated with GC’s distance education curriculum. The LRS will work with the Department of Institutional Effectiveness to ensure compliance with varying accreditors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute a digital collection development policy that implements, evaluates, maintains, and weeds learning resources for undergraduate and graduate academic programs.
  • Audit the current resources and suggest changes and additions to the College’s collection.
  • Manage the learning resources budget effectively and prepare reports for expenditures and effectiveness as well development needs.
  • Ensure the effective and efficient use of learning resources management systems to maintain, and catalog records and monitor the use of resources.
  • Evaluate materials such as journals, books and, various multimedia materials.
  • Consult with IE to produce a report on the College’s collection of resources.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledgeable and experienced with using both print and electronic information sources and databases that support Islamic religious studies and general education at the undergraduate level and Islamic economics & finance, and education at the graduate level.
  • Able to use technology and use it to enhance the overall effectiveness of learning resources, including web-based methods of improving technological access to information.
  • Knowledgeable and experienced in archiving and filing information as well as maintaining databases and standard references relevant with the curriculum
  • Capable of evaluating learning resources and finding the best ones for addressing different questions or issues.
  • Ability to rapidly search databases, internet resources, and catalogs to find needed information.
  • Ability to communicate well with GC personnel as well as with all patrons and guests.
  • Broad knowledge of learning resources. Should be well-read in a variety of genres and types of books (Islamic Studies, General Education, and Finance in particular) to advise readers as to good books for their reading level and their interests.

Supervision Given and Received: 

  • Determines own methods of performing assigned work where definite academic objectives have been established and requiring a wide range of procedures. Coordinates goals and action plans with the Institutional Effectiveness Administrator for achieving student learning improvement.

Accountability and Evaluation:

  • Reports to CAA.

Preferred Position Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in library science or library information systems from an accredited school. Three or more years of professional experience in a library setting, academic or otherwise.

Recruitment & Marketing Coordinator

Position: Recruitment & Marketing Coordinator

Overview:

Guilford College is seeking a qualified, dynamic, goal-oriented candidate to serve as a Marketing Coordinator in a fast-paced, collaborative, and entrepreneurial office on campus. This position will assist with a wide range of responsibilities, including student recruitment, marketing, event planning, and communications. The successful candidate will have strong attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously. The Marketing Coordinator will be a key member of the team and must be comfortable working with colleagues across campus, as well as external partners and vendors, to ensure the timely and successful completion of projects.

The Student Success & Marketing Coordinator will play a key role in recruitment and retention of students, collaborating with admissions, marketing, and other campus partners. This position reports to the VP for Admissions and Marketing. The Marketing Coordinator will also work closely with the AVP of Communications & Marketing and the College President’s Office, as well as faculty and staff from across the College. This position is a full-time, exempt, twelve-month position based on the Guilford College campus in Greensboro, NC.

Key Responsibilities:

Student Recruitment:

  • Develop and implement student recruitment strategies in alignment with institutional goals.
  • Set and meet inquiry/leads, application, and enrollment goals, ensuring effective outreach to prospective students
  • Assist with the admissions process, providing guidance and support to prospective students and their families.
  • Represent Guilford College at educational and community events.
  • Track and analyze recruitment data to assess the effectiveness of recruitment strategies.
  • Prepare regular reports and an end-of-year (EOY) report detailing recruitment performance, lead conversions, and enrollment figures.

Marketing:

  • Collaborate with the marketing team to design and execute targeted marketing campaigns that drive student enrollment.
  • Develop marketing content such as brochures, flyers, and online ads that reflect the institution’s values and academic programs.
  • Assist in managing the institution’s social media platforms to create engaging posts and foster community interaction.
  • Maintain relationships with external agencies and educational institutions for promotional opportunities.
  • Help in organizing and promoting professional development (PD) workshops for educators and students.

Event Planning & Coordination:

  • Coordinate and execute recruitment events, info sessions, and webinars.
  • Assist with virtual recruitment events as needed.
  • Plan and execute in-person and virtual recruitment and marketing events in collaboration with campus partners.

Communications & Outreach:

  • Foster relationships with high schools, universities, and other educational institutions to establish recruitment pipelines.
  • Serve as a point of contact for external stakeholders and partners.
  • Respond to inquiries from prospective students and partners.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field.
  • Experience in data analysis and campaign management preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong project management skills, including multitasking and prioritization.
  • Knowledge of student recruitment processes and strategies.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, CRM software, and data analytics tools.
  • Experience in higher education recruitment is preferred.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of historic education and culture.
  • Experience with data analysis and lead conversion strategies.
